Terms of Service

By accessing or using the StudyDesk platform — including our website, web dashboard, and mobile application (collectively, the "Service") — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to library owners, administrators, and members who use StudyDesk to manage or access self-study library operations.

You must register with a valid email address and a secure password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. Providing false information may result in suspension or termination of your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

Memberships, seats, and shifts are assigned and managed by the library admin. Memberships are personal and non-transferable. Each membership grants access to a specific seat and shift as configured by your library.

The library reserves the right to reassign seats, adjust shifts, or modify plans in exceptional circumstances. StudyDesk facilitates these operations but is not responsible for the individual policies of each library.

Your QR code is personal and must not be shared. Using someone else's QR code, or allowing another person to use yours, violates these Terms and may result in immediate account suspension.

You are responsible for scanning in and out accurately. Attendance records generated through the Service are used by your library for occupancy and record-keeping purposes.

All payments are processed securely through our payment partner, Razorpay. StudyDesk does not store your card or bank details directly.

Membership fees are non-refundable once the membership period has commenced, unless the library admin approves a refund. Payment failures do not guarantee a reserved seat until the transaction is confirmed as successful. Subscription fees for library owners are billed according to the selected plan.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose. • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, account, or network. • Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content. • Harass, abuse, or impersonate other users or library staff. • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service. • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

We collect only the data necessary to provide the Service: your name, email, phone number, membership details, and attendance records. This data is shared only with the library admin of the library you have joined, and with payment processors as needed to complete transactions.

The Service, including its design, code, content, logos, and trademarks, is the intellectual property of StudyDesk and its licensors. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or distribute any part of the Service without prior written consent.

Content you submit (such as complaints or messages) remains yours, but you grant us a limited licence to process it for the purpose of operating the Service.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, StudyDesk shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for conduct that violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, the library, or StudyDesk.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting your library admin or our support team. Certain provisions of these Terms survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability.

We may update these Terms from time to time as the Service evolves or legal requirements change. When we make material changes, we will update the 'Last updated' date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
